"The hotel is a “one of a kind”. Located in the historic part of Quito in a former large colonial home. The ornamental paintings on all the walls create an indoor garden atmosphere. Our room was quite large with a comfortable king size bed. The washroom is well appointed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Eggs are made to order. The artisanal bread was a nice touch. There is no elevator, so ask for a room on a lower floor if you have mobility challenges or think the high altitude might make...

"Room was lovely and clean and had a very large bathroom as well. Very well appointed in keeping with the theme of a Basilica . Felt slightly unsafe walking at nights in the area but taxis easily available and very reasonable "

"I very much enjoyed my stay at Casa Hotel Las Plazas and highly recommend it. A nice, comfortable room and the hotel is really well located within the Historic District. It is family owned and the best thing is the family itself which went out of their way to make me feel at home. Luis was extremely helpful with travel, directions and recommendations. And Lucia and Michelle provide a great breakfast. Lucia knows Ecuadorian fruits well and shared her deep knowledge."

"Loved the location just 1 block off the main square. The room was huge and comfortable with lots of electric outlets. The security guard was helpful, made us feel very secure, and watched out for the guests. "Great location-just 1 block north of Plaza Grande (as hotels.com says but contrary to what Google maps say as of today: and you'll need to tell cabs/ubers/...). My room was quite quiet despite of being right downtown. The people running the hotel are very friendly and helpful. I'd certainly stay at Casa Colonial again."
