BUON HOTEL ALLE PORTE DI CATANIA

Come da titolo un buon hotel alle porte di Catania. Camera familiare tutto sommato comoda come ampiezza anche se il bagno risulta vecchiotto dato che ci hanno cambiato la prenotazione. Piscina piccolina, ma pulita e facilmente raggiungibile. Colazione ottima sia come offerta che come posto per panorama e vista della città. Personale accogliente, gentile e professionale.

Staff dell’hotel gentilissimo al nostro arrivo , la struttura non era ancora pronta ne tantomeno la nostra suite presidenziale nel Corridoio un caldo afoso la nostra jacuzzi personale non era funzionante infatti è stata riempita con una manichetta esterna L’acqua non poteva essere riscaldata , la colazione non povera ma poverissima a disposizione solamente due ciambelle confezionate caffè o cappuccino la suite presidenziale era afosa e si sentiva un odore forte di chiuso , mi sarei aspettato di più visto che ho pagato a prezzo pieno , consiglio vivamente che se non siete ancora pronti evitate di proporre le Vostre camere sopratutto per chi spende molto per avere ottimi servizi

Needs to improve

Although the staff was quite friendly, they don’t manage to help you a lot. Being, supposedly, a good hotel, you expect everything to be working and, if not, that the staff can fix it. We booked the presidential suite for new year expecting to enjoy the jacuzzi on the roof but we were informed upon arrival that the jacuzzi is not always working, they fill it up when you need it but it needs one and a half hour to be prepared. This was not as expected but for us not a problem. They did come to prepare it but the water was lukewarm, and on a December night on the rooftop you need the water to be hot. Despite our requests, they insisted the water was hot enough and that they couldn’t provide water hotter than that and that we should expect this being that it was cold. I actually understand that but if they can’t provide it, they shouldn’t advertise it. On the following morning they told us that actually it was a problem in the boiler and other guests had complained the water in their rooms was also not hot. It’s just that they are not capable of handling the situations and there was no manager that we could talk to. Besides, some of the court aims in the rooms were not working (we had to attach them to furniture to keep them open) and the rain shower is really not clean. There are smalls things that I wouldn’t mind in a lower category hotel, but not when you pay this much money for a suite. It’s a shame because the building is beautiful and the view from the roof top amazing.

Italian Villa mansion in outskirts

Italian Villa with old world charm in lounges . Rooms converted to modern decor. Restaurant first class. Rooftop breakfast overlooking Mt Etna and the city of Catania. Driving through Catania is like bumper carring on a roller coaster. Took back rental car and used hotel car and driver which was great. Excursion to Taormina outstanding. All in all this hotel is a gem . Staff were exceptionally helpful and charming . Great stay.

Great Stay

We staying the Gold suite and it was very nice just as described and the service and free bus from the hotel was great. A taxi cost about 15 euros to get in to town but the hotel bus is free, a very nice touch.

Not as advertised

The hotel looks NOTHING like the advertised photos. I couldn’t find a Similar scene to compare to the photos posted online and on Expedia. The room was dingy and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The pillows and blankets were very very used ... grossly used. The bathroom was well stocked and the nicest part of the room, but the square toilet was not ideal for actual use. There was also no cold water and the water here gets extremely hot. The first night, I burned my hand on the handheld shower spout because the water made the metal searing hot. One outlet for the entire room, The one in the bathroom didn’t work. There were exposed extension cords. We disliked our room so much that we stayed in an alternate hotel for part of our trip. The staff was very kind and the restaurant is also very good. The hotel is just old and not well kept. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort or cleanliness and I very much regret booking it for my honeymoon.

Good hotel overall with many details to be fixed

Me and my wife stayed there for a 4 day holiday. Our first impression was good. The hotel was well designed and the staff was courteous. The restaurant offered good variety of food and atmosphere. There were ample of parking spaces on the streets around the hotel to park our rental car. The breakfast was very good too. Overall our stay would have been very good if not for the bugging details that prevented us to give the hotel a better rating. First there was no WiFi as advertised. They said there was a problem but no one fixed it. The channel selection was very basic and i missed a champions league game. The bathroom light couldn't be turned off. After working for some time the AC would turn itself off many times at will. Sometimes it was impossible to turn it back on again. Not all functions worked. The bedding also was hard for my liking.

Grazioso hotel , comodo e confortevole.

Abbiamo alloggiato in una camera standard con design moderno. L'ambiente è accogliente e pieno di servizi . L'atmosfera romantica e confortevole. L'unica pecca è che al momento del soggiorno non era presente la connessione WiFi per problemi di manutenzione. L'hotel è facile da raggiungere e in una posizione ottimale. Il personale gentile ed efficiente. Ritorneremo sicuramente.

Det var vores værste og ulækkreste ophold på hele vores tur sicilien rundt, og tilmed et af de dyreste. Vi har på vores tur boet på alt fra 28 euro og 130 euro pr nat fra Palermo, trapani ragusa og Catania. Vi bestilte luksus værelse med spa på 22 m2. Morgenmaden var kedelig og lettere intet sigende. Værelset var slidt og svarede til en langt dårligere standart end billederne giver udtryk for. Da vi ville benytte spa badet, justerings kontakten gået i stykker og kunne kun give et pust og med det kom der gammel fedt og sort råd stykker ud i badet som vi lå i. Vi kontaktede straks receptionen og fortalte at det ikke virkede og at vi syntes det var meget ulækkert, de sendte en mand op som kunne konstatere at det var i stykker og at der flød sort materiale og fedt rundt i badekaret. Vi fik af vide at det ikke kunne laves og at vi heller ikke kunne få et andet værelse ej heller på et andet hotel. De sagde også at de ikke ville kompensere for værelset som var et af de dyreste på vores tur. Vi fik på huset, en flaske mousserende vin på værelset, som vi ikke drak da vi bestemt ikke var i romantisk stemning efter at have været smurt ind i det klamme vand i badekaret. Da vi chekker ud blev vi udover det fulde beløb på værelset opkrævet 22 euro for parkering som vi ikke var blevet indformeret om. Alt i alt en rigtig Ulækker oplevelse, vi stod med en følelse af at være blevet plukket økonomisk for et luksushotel drevet af folk uden kompetance. Vi fraråder besøg på hotellet

- Nous sommes arrivés, l'accueil fut froid et expéditif( pas d'info sur l'heure de départ, sur l'heure du petit déjeuner, pas de carte de la ville...) - Chambre petite, mauvaise odeur. Baignoire à jet d'eau qui ne fonctionnait pas, salle de bain pas très propre.Matelas extrêmement dur, à fuir si vous avez mal dos... - Petit déjeuner très simple. Le salé est servi froid, voir glacé, le jus de fruit dans des verres en plastique... Nous regrettons d'avoir séjourner dans cet hôtel qui fut le plus chère des 3 hôtels que nous avons réservé en Sicile et le plus décevant. Je ne conseille donc pas de réserver cet hôtel pour passer vos vacances
