"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, free parking , beautiful building , loved the aesthetic, was peaceful, staff was helpful, professional and friendly, nothing was any trouble. The apartment was fab, roomy and clean. A hidden gem ! Beautiful walks ,Would definitely return ! "

"Check in was okay, however received 2 confirmation emails with different room numbers. Told reception but they said couldnt happen. Got a room on basement floor, room itself relatively basic (106),stained carpet several areas (brown stains!) Floor was noisy and clearly used to house groups of revellers. 3 4 and 5am wake up calls two out of three nights from loud neighbours, banging doors and poor insulation. Room door also looked like it had been forced open and was difficult to close properly. Facilities are great pool and gym and breakfast but experience was poor. Pub and grill tables all reserved some 2hrs in advance.. maybe need a lesson in managing turnover. To cap it all it i was sent an invoice for another room complete with the guests name and details including address. Told reception staff and they werent very helpful. I was concerned my details had gone to the other guest but they assured me not…. Well if assurance is “i dont know what happended”. GDPR and data breach risk seems an alien concept. Stayed 3 nights, got 1 night rest. Not exactly the break we were looking for."

"From start to finish hotel was excellent from staff cleanliness facilities food atmosphere night time cabaret bingo hotel had it all maybe a teensy Weensy reduction in bar prices other than that all excellent as per usual"

"We booked 2 junior suites, room 228 was very nice and matched what was advertised on the website. Unfortunately room 117 was less satisfactory, 2 rooms on different levels had been knocked together to form a 'suite' with 2 bathrooms a very small bedroom and remote equally small sitting area. Nice view of the bin store from the window resulting in plenty of clattering as bins were deposited there. Breakfast was fine and the staff were very nice."

"The hotel was very dated but comfortable. Great, friendly staff and very good food. Good location to town centre, amenities, pubs etc. Cleanliness wasn't the best, very thick dust around the edge of the carpet and the towels had been washed but had stains on them. Not many plug sockets and no usb points in room. Toilet wasn't the best at flushing and the sink taps were hard to turn on and water only seemed to trickle out or full blast - there was no in between. After stating all this we did have a pleasant stay (only 1 night), and would possibly stay again but not for a long weekend, 1 night is just enough. Plenty of parking spaces charged at £14 per night."

"Just had a single night stay with some friends. Staff helpful and friendly, room lovely, clean. Free WiFi us nice as the signal in a big old building with thick walls is non existent. Getting an uber to go out simple. Breakfast has plenty of options. Didn't have the time to use the spa"
