"A very short one night stay which was spoiled by the lack of air-conditioning in a already very hot room. The window was open on arrival but this just let in warm air and numerous flying insects so had to be shut at night."

Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was generally really quiet so slept well. Breakfast was okay for a bit of cereal and a coffee did not have anything cooked. "Excellent staff and a lovely building, well located for York train station and only a short walk into the old town. Why a 3 star the ? Tiny, really tiny, room and a breakfast that was universally overcooked took away from what might have been a great stay."
