We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a blast in Aberdeen before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
