Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Actopan escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like ski poles, and objects that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pack a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a sensible choice.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce your risk.
