If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a comfortable start to your holiday in Ahlat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
