We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and discovering Alberobello in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, travel docs, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are always good options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and opt for closed-toe, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
