We’ve pulled together all the info you need to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you’ll be cruising through airport security and enjoying Alcudia before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right gear. First things first, you’ll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don’t have a Swiss Army knife lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural-fibre clothing and don’t forget to pack a cardigan in case it gets cold in the cabin. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks or tights also helps reduce your risk.
