If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But there's no need to panic. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a pain-free start to your time in Alibag. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
