No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Åmål holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm other people, such as firearms and ammunition, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
