Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will get your Anza holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart option, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
