Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. Follow these handy hints that will get your Attard escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer up with loose, breathable clothing and bring a pullover in case it gets cool. Pick flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
