We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and enjoying Aufaga before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
