Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of top travel tips that will help get your Bang Mun Nak escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, your medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like ice skates, and items that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and remember to bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks may also help.
