If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be a real challenge. But there's no need to panic. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a pain-free start to your getaway in Bazaruto Island. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and go for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
