If you're not prepared, airports and flying can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a trouble-free start to your time in Benidorm. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, official ID, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Pick easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
