Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you’re prepared. We’ve put together a list of essential travel tips that will get your Biarritz escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you’ll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight is often as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your suitcase. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long-haul is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help lower your risk.
