We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a ball in Binalong Bay before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural fibers and remember to bring a sweater just in case you get cold. Opt for well-fitting, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help lower your risk.
