We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and having a blast in Blowing Rock before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by donning layers, and opt for slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
