No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Buckhorn holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Layer up with comfy clothing and pack a cardigan as the temperature can drop in the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a wise idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance flying is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help reduce this risk.
