If you're not prepared, travelling can be a real challenge. But there's no need to panic. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a trouble-free start to your time in Cabrales. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could harm passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up in breathable clothing and bring a pullover in case you get cold. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance flying is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
