We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Cagliari before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a pocket knife hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up, and wear flat, easy-to-remove shoes like slip-ons.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
