We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through the airport and having a ball in Calabar in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your bag for your laptop, a charger, your medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- The result of sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
