Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Casma escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
