Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Chattanooga could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some useful tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you hope to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear flat, easy-to-remove footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
