Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Chisamba holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having an awesome travel experience is to pack ahead. So, let's start with the essentials: passport, travel documents, cash and important medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you busy, like your laptop or a good book. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, don't forget to pop in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a fresh change of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
