Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Chobe National Park could be a breeze or it could drag on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a smart option, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
