Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Cloudcroft escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, travel documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favourite shows are some great options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could injure passengers, such as swords and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
