We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through airport security and seeing the best of Covington before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
