We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and enjoying Cusco before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel docs, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you hope to take a short nap, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
