Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Daytona Beach holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp or pointed objects lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and remember to take a sweater as the temperature can drop in the cabin during long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a good choice.
- Most travellers are aware of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There are many ways to lower your risk. Wear compression socks or tights, drink lots of water and get your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or perform some stretches in your seat.
