Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. Follow these top travel tips that will get your Dennery holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare pair of socks and something to read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
