Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Derio holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
