Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Drake Bay could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We've compiled some handy hints that will help you start your next great escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, travel docs, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favourite shows are good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items to ensure you arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
