If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be challenging. But there's no need to worry. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a stress-free start to your time in Dundalk. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your feet and legs moving.
