Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Edmonton could be a breeze or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some useful travel tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and go for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to remove.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
