Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your English Harbour holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, travel docs, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, natural fibers and bring a jacket just in case you get cold. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the flight. Leave the stilettos and hiking boots in your luggage.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to reduce your risk. Wear a good-quality pair of compression socks, drink lots of water often and get your legs and feet moving. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
