Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. Check out these handy travel tips that will get your Epule escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, pack in your passport, travel docs, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some great options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are roomy, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
