Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Fátima escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when deciding what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
