We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Flinders Ranges in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel docs, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone crammed with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
