If you're not prepared, travelling can be daunting. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a comfortable start to your holiday in Formentera. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and opt for slightly roomy, flat footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
