No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Galena holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your number one priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a sensible choice, as are flat, slightly roomy shoes.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
