If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be a real challenge. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a pleasant start to your holiday in Garachico. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
