We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through airport security and discovering Georgetown before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you take the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp or pointed objects lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to take on and off.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
