We’ve rounded up all the info you need to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our top tips and you’ll be hightailing it through the airport and exploring Getxo in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and medications. Next, you’ll need some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight often lies in your choice of clothes. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up. That way you’ll stay nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like slip-ons. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
