No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of top travel tips that will help get your Gilgil holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when selecting what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear with care too, as swollen ankles and feet are a common occurrence. Roomy, closed-toed shoes are your best bet.
- You've probably heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's lots you can do to reduce your risk. Wear a quality pair of compression socks, stay well hydrated and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.
