Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will get your Gimcheon holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer up in natural fibers and bring a sweater just in case you get chilly. Always go with flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression tights or socks is also a wise idea.
