No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will help get your Glenties escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll touchdown feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive substances, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.
