Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Gore could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some useful tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
